He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Leigh and Pearl Brantley Leigh; his wife Nancy Bell Leigh; his granddaughter Britney Thompson; and his siblings, Thomas "Bud" Leigh, Betty J. Stewart, Frances Festerman, Peggy Love and Beulah "Dude" Speagle.
He is survived by: his children, Jeffery Leigh (Pam) of Kannapolis, Barry Leigh (Angela) of Kannapolis and Tammy Saj (Shawn) of Rockwell; his grandchildren, Tiffani Cook and Jennifer Carter (Justin); and his great grandchild Nevaeh.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Whitley’s Funeral Home (1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd, Kannapolis, NC 28083). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Whitley’s Funeral Chapel (1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd, Kannapolis, NC 28083). A burial was held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Carolina Memorial Park (601 Mt Olivet Rd, Concord, NC 28025).
