She was predeceased by: her parents, Johnnie Joyner and Bertha Pridgen Joyner; her husband Everette Lee Godwin; her siblings, Boice Joyner, Delton Ray Joyner, Willie Joyner and Brenda Lamm; and her great grandchild Benjamin Godwin.
She is survived by: her sons, Jeff Godwin (Teresa) of Rocky Mount and Greg Godwin (Michelle) of Tarboro; her brothers, Howard H. Joyner (Peggy) of Rocky Mount and Herbert Joyner of Nashville; her grandchildren, Jonathan Godwin (Courtney), Ashley Jeffreys (John), Brandon Godwin (Elizabeth), Matthew Godwin (Chelsea), Kristen Smith (Elliott) and Courtney Thomas (Brandon); and her close friend Rosalie Melton. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family friends and other extended relatives.
While floral tributes are welcomed, memorial donations to People's Fellowship Baptist Church are also greatly appreciated.
