She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph William Cockrell. She is survived by: her children, Jennifer Paige Cockrell and Jeffrey Wyatt Cockrell; her adoptive daughter Katie Elizabeth Pridgen of Nashville; her grandchildren, Jessica Leigh Flood and Joseph "Joey" Zachary Smith; her great grandchild Jackson Gray Ayscue; her parents, Simon Moss and Velma Winstead Moss of Rocky Mount; and her brother Mike E. Moss (Jamie) of Nashville. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the family is requesting the need for social distancing and wearing of masks due to health concerns faced around our nation at this time.
