He is survived by: his wife Jean S. Howell; his sister Mary Eva Aycock of Rocky Mount; his nieces and nephews, Robert Howell, Eddie Howell, Janie Howell, Ruthie Vandiford, Debbie Winstead Hill, Teresa Hogshire and Faye Howell Evans; and his close friend Sarah Mills. He is also survived by other nieces and nephews.
