He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald P. Irwin Sr. and Nancy R. Irwin; and his sister Deborah Thorne. He is survived by: his wife Sadie Irwin; his sons, David Irwin (Jennifer) of Rocky Mount and Donald Irwin III (Kelly) of Zebulon; his grandchildren, Dylan Irwin, Jackson Irwin, Harrison Irwin and Emerson Irwin; his sisters, Dana Abdelhadi (Rafael), Pam Webb (Glen) and Dale Ellis; and his brother-in-law Archie Thorne. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Memorial Baptist Church (5399 Old Wilson Rd, Rocky Mount, NC 27801). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
