With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elizabeth Marie Parks Hayes (Rocky Mount, North Carolina), who passed away on January 23, 2026 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Lloyd Parks and Carrie Ellen Coggins Parks; her husband Leroy Glenn Hayes, Sr.; and her sons, Lawrence Eugene Hayes and Randy Allen Hayes.
She is survived by: her children, Leroy "Glenn" Hayes, Jr. of Fayetteville, Edmond Wilson, Kim Reed of Fayetteville and Nancy Wilson of Rocky Mount; her grandchildren, Melissa Thomas (Aaron), Michael, Daniel Lee Hayes, Amber Marie Hayes, Maria and Yahir; and her sisters, Virginia Parks Webb and Mebane Griffin. She is also survived by her five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Elizabeth's memory to Englewood Baptist Church, 1350 S. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
