George Pell Lea Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George Pell Lea (Rocky Mount, North Carolina), who passed away on October 19, 2025 at the age of 66. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though George has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip Pell Lea and Bernice "Bunny" Nicholson Bunn Lea. He is survived by: his siblings, Ramsay Lea Gorham (Frank), Philip Bunn Lea (Jo) and Richard Hunter Lea; and his siblings' children, Hunter Gorham (Megan), Walker Gorham (Molly), Anna Lea Stroud (David) and Katherine Lea Womble (Robert). He is also survived by many extended family members and good friends.

A celebration of life was held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (200 S Church St, Rocky Mount, NC 27804). Visitation was held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
