He is survived by: his daughters, Ginny Hodges (David) of Rocky Mount, Robin Roper (Larry) of Wake Forest, Kim Griffin (W. E.) of Raleigh and Sharon Goff of Youngsville; his grandchildren, Anna Hodges, Powell Roper (Amanda), Bailey Griffin (Alexandra) and Darby Griffin; his great grandchild Taylor Richardson; his sisters, Amaryllis Dawes of Rocky Mount and Faye Harper of Salisbury; his siblings-in-law, Ikey Denton, Ed Harper, Lynn Odom and Betty Odom; and his cousins, Clara Powell Neal, George Allen Powell, Joyce Tolston Kfourny and Jillian Powell Goff. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Wilson Memorial Service (2811 Fieldstream Dr N, Wilson, NC 27896). A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Pineview Cemetery (761 E Raleigh Blvd, Rocky Mount, NC 27803).
