She was predeceased by: her mother Bernice Elizabeth Lewis Whitaker; and her sister Sandra Lynn Whitaker Edwards. She is survived by: her husband Jeffrey "Jeff" Williams; her children, Tynisha Moore (Reggie), James Williams, Mykal Williams and Jesse Williams; her grandchildren, Mykayla Moore, Reshon Moore and Olivia Williams; her father Jesse A. Whitaker, Sr.; and her siblings, Jesse Whitakers, Jr. (Sabonia), Shawn Whitaker (Tonja), Ron Whitaker (Elaine) and Angela Jeffery (Cary). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and extended family; and many close friends.
A longtime member of Foundation of Truth Ministries, JoAnn retired after 18 years working for the State of North Carolina.
