With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Margaret Daughtridge Barnes (Rocky Mount, North Carolina), who passed away on January 5, 2023 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Bulluck Alford Daughtridge and Ethel Lee Hinton Daughtridge; her brothers, Jesse Gene Daughtridge (Molly) and William Gray Daughtridge; and her brother-in-law George Duffy Howell.
She is survived by: her husband L. M. Barnes, III; her children, Margaret "Meg" Barnes Cooke (Harry) of Greenville and Matt Barnes of Greenville; her grandchildren, Ashley Cooke Eatmon (Cameron) of Greenville, Will Cooke (Elizabeth Smithy) of Greenville, Logan Barnes of Cary and Allison Barnes of Rocky Mount; and her siblings-in-law, Carol Daughtridge Patterson (Pat), Theresa Barnes Howell and Marvin Lee Barnes (Cynthia). She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Margaret's memory to the First Presbyterian Church of Rocky Mount, 153 N. Church Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
