She was predeceased by: her parents, William Alfred Herbert and Clara Lucille Dozier Herbert; her brothers, William "Billy" Ernest Herbert and Joseph "Boyd" Herbert; and the father of her children Jimmy Lewis.
She is survived by: her daughters, Joan Lewis Outlaw (Randy) and Susan Lewis Andrews (Ronnie); her grandchildren, Christy Perry and J. R. Perry (Laura); her great grandchildren, Madison Evernham Lynch (PJ), Daniel Evernham, Josh Evernham and Emma Morris; her great great grandchild Violet Lynch; and her sister-in-law Linda Herbert. She is also survived by her four nieces and one nephew.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Marie's memory to Englewood United Methodist Church, 300 S. Circle Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
