With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Owens Slavin (Rocky Mount, North Carolina), who passed away on April 15, 2022 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Bruce and Irene Boone Owens; her husband William Calvin Slavin; her daughter Teresa Slavin Long; her grandson Lee Slavin; and her siblings, Mattie Gupton, Bernice Parrish, Arlene Robinson, Larry, Otis, Willard, Wendell and Wayne Owens.

She is survived by: her sons, Edward (Tina) and David (Judy); her son-in-law Mike Long; and her sister Geneva Davis. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.
