He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Rue Sorie and Laura Newsome Sorie; his sister Bonnie Sorie Debardeleben; his brother-in-law Earnest Debardeleben; and his pet Sassy.
He is survived by: his wife Edna; his children, Amanda Sorie Boyd (Clarence DeWitt) of Ames, Sandra Sorie Price (Rodney "Cotton") of Rocky Mount, Shawn Sorie Bledsoe (Mark) of Scotland Neck and Micky Eugene "Gene" Sorie, II (Brandyn) of Scotland Neck; his grandchildren, Jessica Boyd Ingber (Dave) of Simpsonville, DeWitt Boyd, Jr. (Sarah) of Granger, McCauley Pearson (Sam) of Tarboro, John Isaac Little of Scotland Neck, Hannah Renee Little of Seaboard, Avery Sorie (Vincent) of Barboursville, Virginia, Dakota Sorie of Greenville and Chandler Sorie; and his great grandchildren, Noah, Isla Ingber and Everett Pearson.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Chapel of Letchworth-Sykes Funeral Service (101 W 7th St, Scotland Neck, NC 27874).
