She was predeceased by: her parents, John Silas and Nannie Walston Adkins; her husband Gene L. Lewis, Sr.; and her siblings, John A. Adkins, Robert D. Adkins and Virginia Anderson.
She is survived by: her children, Teresa Jane Lewis Cairns of The Republic and Gene L. Lewis, Jr. (Margaret) of Rocky Mount; her siblings, Jane Wood of Wilson, NC and Charles Adkins of Wilmington, NC; her sister-in-law Nancy Akins of Creedmoor, NC; her grandchildren, Kristie Lewis Kennedy (Benjamin) of Raleigh, Ryan Lewis (Molly) of Charleston, SC, Neville Cairns and Jeremy Cairns of The Republic; and her great grandchildren, Asher, Abby, Katie and Joanna Kennedy of Raleigh, NC. She is also survived by many niece and nephews.
Nancy was a member of First United Methodist Church, Rocky Mount, NC and the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in Nancy's memory to the church at 100 South Church Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
