We bid farewell to Nell Caroline Griffin Davenport of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on March 23, 2026 at the age of 94. Nell touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Taswell Griffin, Jr. and Fidelia Moore Overton Griffin; her husband Calvin Davenport; her daughter Martha Carol Davenport; and her siblings, Mary Ruth Griffin Williams, Fidelia Faye Griffin Morgan, Charlotte Griffin Ahalt, Richard Taswell "Dick" Griffin, III, Dr. William Buxton "Bill" Griffin, Sr., John Thomas "Johnny" Griffin and James Ambler "Jimmy" Griffin.
She is survived by: her children, Richard Calvin Davenport (Donna) of Red Oak, Gaile Davenport Taylor (Roger) of Nashville and Mary Davenport Myrick (Jay) of Littleton; her grandchildren, Carrie Spradley (Paul), Sarah Dixon (Phil), Grey Davenport (Steve), Van Davenport, Haley Day (Wilson) and Hunter Willette (Dylan); her great grandchildren, Andrew, Phoebe, Matthew, Anna, Simeon Spradley, Philip, Cameron Dixon, Ella, Griffin Day, Waylon Dressler, Millie and Noah Willette; and her sisters, Marjorie Griffin Ramsey and Rebecca Griffin Pittman (Jerry). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dearest friends.
