She was predeceased by: her parents, Garland Gray Wheeler and Hazel Adcock Wheeler; her husband Joe Gurganus; her brother Harold Gray Wheeler; and her grandson Kris Carey.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cynthia Gurganus (Chuck Newman) and Lisa Carey (Kevin); her granddaughters, Elizabeth Fox and Melissa Carey Weems; and her brothers, Kenneth Wheeler and Ted Wheeler. She is also survived by her great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
