He is survived by: his children, Derrick Godwin (Ashley) of Nashville and Lindsay Godwin Hill (Tim) of Tarboro; and his grandchildren, Bobby Fields, Ashtyn Godwin, Nathan, Trevor and Julianna Hill. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
