He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Denton and Edith Warren Denton; his brothers, Raymond "Buck" King, David Denton and Donald Ray King, Sr.; and his stepdaughter Laurie Ann Staton.
He is survived by: his siblings, Harold Denton (Teresa) of Crisp, Edith Scott of Tarboro and Lois Williams of Tarboro; his stepson Wiley Staton of Tarboro; and his close friend Mike Kennedy of Pinetops. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and family friends.
