It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Samuel Taylor Cruz (Rocky Mount, North Carolina), who passed away on May 4, 2025, at the age of 30, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Samuel may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Samuel touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his mother Lisa Ann Para. He is survived by: his children, Chloe, Dawson and Addison; his adoptive parents, Spencer Leonard and Dina Leonard of Tarboro; and his siblings, Tony Mendoza (Amanda) of Tarboro, Ashley Sewell (Jeff) of Winterville, Kurt Nichols (Katie) of Sharpsburg and Trey Leonard of Tarboro. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
