He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, James Hanson Highsmith and Doris Dawson Highsmith; his wife Diane Highsmith; his daughter Joy Whitley; his brother Joey Highsmith; his children, Mandy Baker (Austin) and James Sidney Highsmith (Connie); his significant other Gail West; his grandchildren, Latitia Joseph, Sabrena Mathews, Logan Whitley, Miranda Baker and Sidney Highsmith; his brother David Andrew Highsmith; and his friend Joe Moody (Wayne Ashe).
