He was predeceased by : his father John. He is survived by : his mother Madonna Evangelista (late Vincent Evangelista); his siblings, Joey Higgins, Tommy Higgins, Lorrie Cross (Sean), Margaret Kaplan, Mary Maresco (Scott) and Katherine O'Donnell (Thomas); his godchildren, Alyssa Kaplan and Andrew Cross; and his pet Leo. He is also survived by nine nieces and nephews.
