He was predeceased by : his parents, James Russell Prevette and Mary Lee Shepard Prevette; his wife Edna Prevette; his siblings, John David Prevette (Bud), Jimmy Prevette and Margaret Cheek; and his son-in-law Donnie Wagoner.

He is survived by : his stepchildren, Faye H. Wagoner of Statesville and Larry Holyfield (Annette) of Lady Lake, FL.; his grandchildren, Josh Wagoner (Michelle) of Statesville and Rachel Holyfield of Huntersville; and his great grandchildren, Gabe, Piper, Eli, Sunshine and Enoch Wagoner.
