With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Tyler Muir of Roper, North Carolina, who passed away on January 10, 2026 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Douglas Muir and Louise Rogers Muir; and his brother Gary Muir. He is survived by: his wife Judi Muir of Roper, NC; his children, John Tyler Muir Jr. of Nashville, TN, Duane Jones, Allison Case (Jim) of Michigan and Kimberly Muir of Michigan; his siblings, Greg Muir (Alison) of Greenville, NC, Judith Sellers (Paul) of Florida and Deborah Dinsmore of Elizabeth City, NC; and his grandchildren, Autumn, Christopher, Greg, Jenna and Alicen.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 21st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Oak Grove Baptist Church (16126 NC-32, Roper, NC 27970). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 21st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church, Roper.
