She is survived by: her children, Mary-Anna Meyer Arnold (Ken) of Raleigh and Ernst W. Meyer, Jr. (Jennifer Bingham) of Jonesborough; her grandson Alexander K. Arnold (Sarah) of Raleigh; her brother Dr. David Hawes (Judy) of Raleigh; and her sister-in-law Christel Decker of Schwetzingen, Germany.. She is also survived by nieces, nephews.
