He is survived by: his sons, James Howard Jr. and Darren Howard; and his siblings, Agnes Howard, Vfon Bumpass and Don Howard. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, May 8th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Butler & Son Funeral Home (904 E Doctor M. L. K. Jr Blvd, Roseboro, NC 28382). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Thomas AME Zion Church (810 Bullard St, Roseboro, NC 28382).
