He was predeceased by: his parents, Rayford Lloyd Pennell and Ila Morris Wynne; and his siblings, Ila P. Langley, Wilma Simpson, Virginia Tuck and Ray Pennell.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Diane Ross Pennell; his children, Jackie Cooke (Darryl), Lisa Pennell, Rabian Pennell (Donna), Kelvin Pennell and Betsy Cottrell (Barry); his grandchildren, Cat Mangum (Chad), Gabby Lunsford (Josh), Crystal Fields (Gordon), Ashley Roberts (Lamont Siplen), Elizabeth Claiborne (Derek), Kelvin Pennell Jr., Samantha Matthews (Jason), Jonathan Cottrell and Kelly Smith (James); his siblings, Wade Pennell (Janet) and Rhonda Fay Ross (Bobby); and his pet Xena Pennell. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
