He was predeceased by: his parents, Barnie Gray Day and Nancy Jane Clayton Day; his brothers, Casey Day and Kenneth Day; his niece Ashley Marie; and his nephew Ian Jordan.

He is survived by: his wife Debbie Edge Day; his sister Nancy Day Jordan of Roxboro, NC; his nephew Grant Jordan (Bryson); and his great-niece Scarlett of Raleigh, NC.. He is also survived by the grandparents could feed the grandchildren while the parents.

“Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss. Barnie was a great friend and neighbor. I will always remember his easy smile and good humor. Favorite memory was of a day we had stopped at Lovers Leap wayside; He was standing on the rock wall driving golf balls into the valley below. He always jokingly called his people here his Meadows of Dan Mafia because we stood strongly behind him.”
