He was predeceased by: his parents, John Rupert and Maggie Lucille Saunders Long; his spouse Devona Ann Clayton Long; and his siblings, Melvin Merritt Long, Randy Lynn Long and Frances Long West.
He is survived by: his children, Billy Linwood "Linn" Long, Jr. (Amy) of Roxboro, NC and Debbie Riley (Andy) of Hurdle Mills, NC; his grandchildren, Jessica Shull (Ashley), Melissa Greer (Scott) and Andy Riley, Jr. (Stephanie); his great grandchildren, Hudson Shull, Dawson Shull, Ashlyn Riley, Tristan Riley, Izzy Riley, Paige Sharpe, Meredith Greer and Nathan Greer; his great great grandchild Eugene Sharpe; and his brothers, Allen "Snook" Long (Carol) and Danny D. Long.
