He was predeceased by: his parents, Hassell Lawrence, Sr. and Rosa Allison Newton; his son Charles B. "Chuck" Newton, Jr.; and his sisters, Wanda Lou Newton, Janice Faye Nielsen and Joan Lee N. Long.
He is survived by: his sibling Oaks Place; his wife Brenda Gravitte Newton of Goldsboro; his siblings, H. L. Newton, Jr. (Barbara), Gloria N. Jones of Roxboro and Rebecca C. Winstead (Jerry) of Roxboro; his brother-in-law Howard Nielsen of Sacramento, CA.; and his friend Gloria Jones.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Clement Baptist Church Cemetery (8480 Burlington Rd, Hurdle Mills, NC 27541).
