She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Route and Hannah May Massen Route; her spouse Elsmere Allan Wilbourn; her daughters, Caroline Wilbourn and Jacqueline Shumaker; and her siblings, Iris Smart, Jean Hawes, Douglas Route and Cyril Route.
She is survived by: her children, Ronnie Wilbourn of Greensboro, NC, Allen Wilbourn (Angela) of Roxboro, NC, Elsmere Wilbourn of Chapel Hill, NC, Yvonne Burgett of Clarksville, VA, Veronica Bohannon of Arizona and Vanessa Wilbourn of Henderson, NC; and her sisters, Eileen Sharpe and Jenny Akers. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, forty-eight great grandchildren, and thirteen great-great grandchildren.
