He is survived by: his wife Hazel O'Briant Smith; his daughter Marcy Smith Brooks (Mark) of Roanoke Rapids; his grandson Robert Adam Crowder; his stepchildren, Harry Williams, Jr. (Deanna) of Montana, Carol Williams Crute (Tim) of Grassy Creek, Helen Williams Brann (Greg) of Roxboro, Hope Williams Gentry (Terry) of Roxboro and Heather Satterfield (Denise) of Durham; his stepgrandchildren, Hiedi Walker Woodgeard, Pieper Williams Heimer, Ryland Williams, Brandy Brann, Tiffany Crute Thompson, Adam Crute, Kendra Williams Green, Dustin Brann, Cole Hagen Williams, Charles Williams, Hawk Satterfield and Harlow Satterfield; and his siblings, Earl Smith (Gail), Lester Smith (Gale), Ronald Smith (Barbara), Gladys Smith Loftis and Joyce Smith Baker (Don).
