She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Thomas and Ida Lucille Ellis Hicks; and her husband Ray Charles Gentry. She is survived by: her siblings, Clarence T. "C. T." Hicks Jr. (Carolyn) of Roxboro, NC, Charles G. Hicks (Barbara) of Roxboro, NC and Julia H. Poole of Myrtle Beach, SC..
