He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvin William Eakes and Nannie Fair Chandler; and his brother Sandy Eakes. He is survived by: his wife Victoria Wall Eakes; his children, Randy Eakes (Tanya) and Diane Eakes Fox (Todd); his grandsons, Brandon Fox (Abby) and Matthew Fox (Kristina); and his great grandchildren, Sophia Fox, Hudson Fox and Garrett Fox.

Visitation was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Brooks and White Funeral Home, Inc. (907 Durham Rd, Roxboro, NC 27573). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Flowers are acceptable, or memorials may be made to the American Legion at 218 Chub Lake St, Roxboro NC 27573, or to a charity of one's choice.
