She was predeceased by: her parents, Ed Shields and Barsh McCann Shields; her son Donald Buchanan; and her sister Shelby Dixon. She is survived by: her husband Keith Watson Kimball; her son Layton Glenn Buchanan of Roxboro; her stepson Keith Shawn Kimball (Angela) of Timberlake; and her siblings, Roland Shields of Roxboro, Rosa James of Lexington and Cynthia Shields. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
