She was predeceased by: her parents, Payton Alvin Young and Frances Melton Young; her husband Ervin Thomas Blalock; her granddaughter Ashley Giles; and her siblings, James Young and Becky Hux.

She is survived by: her children, Pam Giles (Marvin) of Roxboro and Frankie Blalock (Shannon Regan) of Roxboro; her brother Emory Young (Brenda) of Roxboro; her grandchildren, Jessica Giles Torain, Brittany Giles and Cameron Blalock; and her great grandchildren, Josiah Torain, Juliann Torain and Jeremiah Giles.
