He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Mathews and Ola C. Mathews; his siblings, Buddy, John, Jimmy Mathews, Nell Sumner and Dean Ditchfield; and his wife Marcialese Pike Mathews.
He is survived by: his children, Butch Mathews (Sandy), Candice Hess (Brian) and Karen Carraway; his grandchildren, Lindsay Carver (Scott), Kelsey Martin, Taylor Carraway, Connor Hess and Sydney Mendoza (Edward); his great grandchildren, Sophie Martin, Oakes Martin, Finley Carver, Pike Carver and Adela Mendoza; and his significant other Dachshund.
