She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur William and Elizabeth "Lizzie" McDuffie Utley; her husband William M. Barber; her son Larry Wayne Mitchell; her great grandchildren, Scott Brant and Richard Henn, III; her son-in-law Joseph Harrison York; her nieces, Linda Wright, Lanelda Bullock, Myra Harris and Deloris Avery; and her nephew Bobby Avery.
She is survived by: her daughter Billie Barber York (James Hanlin); her grandchildren, Barbara Horn, Tina Mitchell, Adam Mitchell, Larry Mitchell, Jr. and Cheryl Holewinski; her great grandchildren, Amy Horn, Adam Horn, Joy Mitchell, Thomas Dean, Anna Abel, Michael Abel and Donald Abel; her nieces and nephews, Susan Utley, Deloris Harrell, Sherry Utley, James P. Utley, Kent Utley, Johnny Avery and Barry Utley; and her siblings, Paul Utley, Myrtle Spears, Ila Avery, Johnny Utley and Elmo Utley. She is also survived by seven great-great grandchildren.
