He was predeceased by: his parents, William Clay Blackwell, Sr. and Hattie Lois Duff Blackwell; and his brothers, William Clay Blackwell, Jr. and Michael Blackwell. He is survived by: his siblings, Brenda Blackwell of Durham, Reverend David Blackwell (Minister Elaine) of Roxboro, Steven Blackwell of Raleigh, Marcus Blackwell (Janice) of Roxboro, Sharon Blackwell Garnett of Roxboro and Shirley Bailey of Roxboro; his nephew James C. Blackwell; his nieces, Shavonda Winstead of Roxboro and Lavonda Allen of Roxboro; his aunt Rosa Duff of Roxboro; and his sister-in-law Zelma Blackwell of Raleigh. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Sunday, June 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cunningham and Nelson Funeral Home (87 Brookland Church Rd, Roxboro, NC 27573). The military honors was held on Sunday, June 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Cunningham & Associates Funeral Services Chapel (87 Brookland Church Rd, Roxboro, NC 27573).
