He was predeceased by : his parents, Hine Simpson, Sr. and Evelyn Louise Evans Simpson; his children, Hine Simpson, III, Kristopher Damien Simpson and Cindy Gail Oakley; his granddaughters, Mary Elizabeth Moore, Kaitlyn Ann Shepherd and Makayla LeAnne Oakley; and his brother Jack Simpson.

He is survived by : his wife Geraldine Helen Fairchild Simpson; his children, Evelyn S. Stanley (Eddie) of Maryland, Staci Daughrity of Roxboro, NC, Robin Daughrity (Michael Hatcher) of Roxboro, NC, Edward Jack "Ted" Simpson (Kelly) of Acton, CA and Kelly Clayton (Keith) of Roxboro, NC; his grandchildren, Krista S. Knight (Michael), Brandon Cook, Sammantha Banks, Ryan Simpson, Victoria Banks, Mackenzie Simpson, Gage Moore and Shannan Talley; his great grandchildren, Isabella G. Solomon, Michael Knight JR, Bransyn O. Dunn and Memphis W. Wood; his niece Desiree M. Simpson; and his sister-in-law Nellie Simpson.
