It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph D. Drumwright of Roxboro, North Carolina, who passed away on December 14, 2025, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Joseph shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Joseph farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sonnie Drumwright and Elizabeth Atkerson Drumwright of Bailey's Chapel A. M. E. Church. He is survived by: his wife Janice Drumwright; and his children, Joseph Drumwright, Jr., David Drumwright of Clayton, Deborah Watkins of Asheville, Jonathan Drumwright (Stacey) of Roxboro and Teresa Jones (Gregory) of Durham. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
