He was predeceased by: his parents, Huel McNeil and Maxine Shotwell Gentry; and his brother-in-law William Lemuel Powell. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Denny Gentry; his sons, Joseph Adam Gentry (Tammy) and Jeffrey Neal Gentry; his grandchildren, Riley Joseph Gentry and Lily Ann Gentry; his sister Christine Gentry Powell; his nephew Anthony Powell (Patricia); and his nieces, Angela Webb of Virginia and Lisa Watson (Glenn) of Virginia. He is also survived by three great nephews, two great nieces, and ten great-great nieces and nephews.
