She was predeceased by: her father Belt Griffin; and her brother J. D. Griffin. She is survived by: her husband Frank Shotwell of Roxboro; her children, Kyle Shotwell (Kristy) of Roxboro, Bridget Bowen (Rodney) of Roxboro and Blake Shotwell (Angela) of Winston Salem; her brother William Griffin (Christine) of Roxboro; and her grandchildren, Kate, Anneliese, Deacon, Kensleigh, Collin, Avery Claire, Aubrey, Jacob and Ashton. She is also survived by her husband, children and grandchildren.
