She was predeceased by : her parents, Stephen Radford and Phoebe Ann Hicks Garrett; her husband Edgar Reade "Meece" Bowes; and her siblings, Doris G. Patterson, Elizabeth G. Harris, Emogene G. Carver, Billy R. Garrett and Steve O. Garrett.

She is survived by : her children, Donnie R. Bowes (Wendy) of Timberlake, NC, Joyce B. Whitfield (Phillip) of Hurdle Mills, NC and Ed B. Bowes (Tonya) of Roxboro, NC; her grandchildren, Garrett Whitfield (Anna), Colby Whitfield (Brannsyn), Josh Bowes, Garrison Perkins (Alex) and Jackson Bowes; her great grandchildren, Avery Whitfield, Jase Whitfield and Ridge Perkins; and her brothers, John Mark Garrett and Ray E. Garrett.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM at the Antioch Baptist Church (677 Antioch Church Rd, Timberlake, NC 27583). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
