He was predeceased by: his parents, Bobby Levoyd Ellis and Mary Davis Ellis; and his sister Arista Ellis. He is survived by: his wife Robin Bowles Ellis; his children, Austin Trey Ellis of Roxboro and Kourtney Brianne Ellis (Jordan) of Roxboro; his brothers, Brent Ellis (Rachel) of Pelham and Kent Ellis of Roxboro; his grandchildren, Layla and Mary-Mae; his brother-in-law Greg Bowles (Lynn); and his mother-in-law Nancy Bowles.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, September 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Stories Creek Primitive Baptist Church (600 Stories Creek Rd, Roxboro, NC 27574).
