With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lelia Monk Carver Long of Roxboro, North Carolina, who passed away on November 26, 2023 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Wyatt Monk and Hassie Bell Harris Monk of Roxboro; her former husband Donald Teague Carver; her husband Dr. Thomas Long; her son-in-law Cleve Buchanan; her grandson Greg Buchanan; and her sisters, Margie Thomas, Ann Street and Barbara Adams.
She is survived by: her daughters, Donna Dale Buchanan of Dahlonega, Connee White (Bill) of Roxboro and Suzan Jones (Steve) of Surf City, NC.; her grandchildren, Adam Buchanan (Amy) of Dahlonega, Katie Cork (Jonathan) of Raleigh, Mary Rachel Bowling (Chris) of Cary, Zack Jones (Karen) of Costa Rica and Matt Jones (Kaila) of Surf City, NC; and her great grandchildren, Chloe, Charlotte Buchanan, Cooper, Katelyn, Emerson Cork, Jack, Spencer Bowling, Alana, Kai Jones, Skylar and Mattix Jones.
During Covid she continued spreading sunshine by sending cards full of crazy and inspirational sayings to friends and family.
