She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey Yancey and Martha Elizabeth Dickey Chambers; her husband Sylvester Lowery; her daughter April Jo Ellis; and her siblings, Charlie William Chambers, Mary Frances Ellis and Louise Zumer.

She is survived by: her children, Harvey Yancey Ellis (Sharrell), Trudy Gunter (Jackie), Roy Keith Ellis (Luanne) and Clyde Brinkley Ellis, Jr. (Michele); and her siblings, David Carlton Chambers, Joseph Robert Chambers, Ann Dodson and Peggy Hall. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Shriner's Hospital for Children.
