It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lonie Dean Oakley (Roxboro, North Carolina), who passed away on September 22, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wallace Oakley and Minnie Oakley; her former husband Melvin Wade; her siblings, David Oakley and Rebecca Oakley; and her children, Doug Wade and Annette Wade.
She is survived by: her son Kenneth Wade (Terri); her daughter-in-law Pam Burleson; her husband Calvin "Buster" Oakley; her grandchildren, Doug "DJ" Wade (Liz), Jordan Wade and Taylor Wade; her great grandchildren, Raye and Mikey Wade; her siblings, Bobby Oakley (Peggy) and Elaine Gravitte; her stepchildren, Andy Oakley, Gwen Litchfield, Julie Lee and Joyce Sugg; Linda Oakley. She is also survived by seven step grandchildren, and numerous step great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the CaVel Baptist Church (1885 N Main St, Roxboro, NC 27573). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
