She was predeceased by: her parents, Christine Black and Frank Black; and her brother James Cates. She is survived by: her siblings, Phyllis Thomas (Dwight), Joseph Black (Elizabeth), Timothy Black, Frankie Black, Crystal Brooks (Ronnie) and Bruce Black. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Church of God (915 Allie Clay Rd, Roxboro, NC 27573). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at 3:30 PM at the Christian Apostolic Holiness Church (5445 McGhees Mill Rd, Semora, NC 27343).
