She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Thomas Preston and Mary Glasson Brinn of Hertford; her granddaughter Sophia Grace; and her sister Mary Elliott Brinn. She is survived by: her husband Jerry M. Clayton; her children, Kelly Smith (Richard) of Milwood, VA., T. P. Brinn Clayton (Linda) of Roxboro and Jerry M. Clayton (Clay); her grandchildren, Sara Smith Awali (Khaalid) of Somaliland, Africa, Hannah Smith Eddington (John) of Milwood, Nikolay Clayton of Roxboro and Eleanor (Carver Clayton); and her sister Ann Brinn Tucker of Henderson.
