He was predeceased by: his parents, George Edward Hargis and Lillian Parrott Hargis Hubbard; his siblings, Stanley Hargis, Terry Hargis, Nathan Hargis, Lila Hargis Martin and Richard Hargis; and his pet Fred.
He is survived by: his daughter Jennifer Hargis; his sister Lona Hargis Lockhart (Ricky) of Roxboro; his siblings-in-law, Beverly Hargis, Angela Hargis and Robert Martin; his granddaughter Isabella "Bella" Lashway; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Georgia, Declan, Hartlie and Alyssa. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
